Starter Kit was worth it

I ordered the Starter Kit and a few extra Window Sensors. The website was straightforward to navigate, and checkout was smooth. Delivery took 6 days to get to my place in California, which was okay but not super fast. Packaging was secure, everything arrived in good condition. Installation was mostly self-explanatory, but I did consult a YouTube video for the Smart Handle. The app setup was simple, connecting to the Kubu Hub was quick. I had a small question about battery life expectations, and customer support responded within a day with helpful details. Quality feels solid, not flimsy at all. The visual indicator on the sensors is a nice touch for a quick check. Overall, a good experience for enhancing home security.

Consistent product quality

This was my third order from Kubu. I first got a Starter Kit a year ago, then added some Window Sensors a few months later. This time, I needed a Smart Sash Sensor for a new door. What I appreciate is the consistency. The quality of the sensor feels the same as my earlier purchases, and the integration into my existing Kubu system was seamless. I didn't need to re-learn anything. Delivery time was also similar to my previous orders, arriving within about a week. It's reliable, which is why I keep coming back. I know what to expect, and they deliver.

Good Door Sensor

I bought a Door Sensor last week. It arrived fast. Installation was pretty easy to do myself. Works well with the app. No issues so far, just what I needed.

Easy setup, pretty cool

So I finally got around to getting some smart home stuff and picked up a Kubu Hub and a couple of Smart Sensors. Honestly, I thought it'd be a pain to set up, but it was actually pretty easy. I just followed the instructions in the box, and the app guided me through getting everything connected. Took maybe 20 minutes from unboxing to seeing the sensors pop up on my phone. My partner is usually wary of tech, but even they thought it was neat seeing which windows were open from the couch. It's not a game changer, but it definitely makes things feel a bit more secure without much hassle. Happy with it.

Hey, I'm in New York, how long does shipping usually take for a starter kit?

C Cleo E. 3 weeks ago
Kubu is a UK company, so it might take a little longer for US delivery. I'd expect at least a week, maybe two? Not super speedy.

Yeah, definitely not Amazon Prime fast. I ordered some replacement batteries a while back and it was about 8-9 days to California. Factor in a bit of time.

How does Kubu stack up against something like Ring? Is it just as good, or better for certain things?

E Elena Foster 1 month ago
Kubu is more about the actual door/window security, knowing if it's locked/unlocked. Ring is more cameras and general motion detection. Different focus, I'd say.

I have both actually. Kubu is awesome for just knowing the status of your locks, gives me peace of mind. Ring is great for seeing who's at the door. They integrate well enough, but they aren't direct competitors for *everything*.

Are there any deals for new customers? Like a discount code for my first order?

T Todd 1 month ago
Pretty sure they do a first order discount or a newsletter signup offer sometimes. Check their site, it usually pops up.

They often have starter kit bundles on sale too, which can be a better deal than just a single sensor with a small discount. I'd look for those.

Thinking of getting a starter kit, but wondering about the installation. Do I need a professional or can I just slap these on myself?

M Marcus Hughes 1 month ago
Nah, you can totally do it yourself. I put in a few window sensors last month, it was pretty straightforward, just follow the instructions.

For sure, DIY is fine for most of it. I think for some of the actual smart locks, a locksmith might be better, especially if you're not super handy. But the basic sensors are easy.
